Is the Bible your gospel?

Who wrote the Bible?

God.

God is the Author of the Bible. He used various men to pen His words, but He Himself is the Author.

One God…One Book…One Author…One Teacher.

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness (2Tim 3:16)

But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. (2Pet 1:20-21)

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.” … And Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. (Exod 34:27; 24:4)

Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘Write all the words which I have spoken to you in a book.’” (Jer 30:2)

And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” (Rev 21:5)

How did God design the Bible?

The Bible is not like any other book. God designed His Book in such a way that only He can open and teach it.

1. The Bible’s 66 books are sealed — God must first open His Book.
2. It’s written in a spiritual language that cannot be understood — unless He teaches.

And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed. (Isa 29:11)

And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. (Isa 29:12)

Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?” … “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.” (Rev 5:2,5)

“You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for I am.” (John 13:13)

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures (Luke 24:45)

What is the symmetry between Jesus and the Bible?

Both Jesus and the written Scriptures are the Word of God, and have been marred, scarred, abused, and despised by men. Just as men killed the Word of God when He came in flesh, today the church kills the written Word of God with their teachings and traditions of men.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)

He has a name written which no one knows except Himself … His name is called The Word of God. (Rev 19:12-13)

“And you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition … But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’” (Matt 15:6,9)

So His appearance was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men. (Isa 52:14)

What is the gospel?

The gospel is the Word of God — all 66 books of God’s truth. When Scripture says that the gospel will go into all nations, it’s referring to the printed Bible.

Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God ... And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room, even near the door; and He was speaking the word to them. (Mark 1:14; 2:2)

And so, when they had solemnly testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, and were preaching the gospel (Acts 8:25)

…which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel (Col 1:5)

What is the miracle of the printed Bible?

After the Catholic Church hid the Bible away for more than a millennium, God resurrected the Bible and freed it from Roman Catholic captivity. Around the 1500s, He gave mankind knowledge of the printing press and moved them to publish the Bible. At the same time, He caused men to discover, explore, and settle the Western Hemisphere.

Since then, God has made sure that His complete written Word — both Old and New Testaments together — has been printed in many different languages and distributed all over the world in the tens of billions of copies.

“And the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law.” (Isa 42:4)

And the gospel must first be published among all nations. (Mark 13:10)

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matt 24:14)
