The Feasts: Moses Wrote of Jesus

Jesus said that Moses wrote of Him. What did Moses write of Him? ANYTHING that had to do with the Lord God of Israel, because Jesus is the Lord God of Israel.

And the Lord God of Israel/Jesus said, “My appointed times [feasts] are these…” (Lev 23:2). The feasts of Israel are Jesus’s appointed times!

What does this mean? Specific days are significant to Him, appointed by Him. Why? Because of what He would do on those days. For example:

  • The Lord God of Israel/Jesus is the Passover. When did He die? On Passover.
  • The Lord God of Israel/Jesus is the Bread. When was He buried and ascended? During the week of Unleavened Bread.
  • The Lord God of Israel/Jesus is the First Fruits. When did He rise from the dead? On First Fruits.
  • After His resurrection and ascension, the Lord God of Israel/Jesus sent His Spirit. When did He send the Spirit? On the Feasts of Weeks, aka Pentecost.

Are these important events in God’s plan? Jesus’s death, burial and ascension, resurrection, and giving of the Spirit? What if Jesus’s three remaining appointed times have to do with His first assembly of believers in heaven (Trumpets), His return (Yom Kippur), and His marriage feast (Tabernacles)? Are those important events as well?

It’s simple, true, and beautiful. The Lord God of Israel/Jesus’s appointed times are important days because of Himself and His own works within His own overall plan. Is it too much for Him to ask His creation to honor Him on those days? They’re extremely important days to Him. Will His days become important to you?

“For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote of Me.” (Jn 5:46)

“My appointed times are these….” (Lev 23:2)
