Overcome the churches:
forewarnings about the organized church (your church)

If you go to a church, you obviously don’t understand what the Spirit is saying to “the churches” in the Lord’s letters in the Book of Revelation or in the rest of the New Testament.

Come out and be separate from something He and His apostles told you was going to become polluted and corrupted very quickly.

Luke 21:8   And He said, “See to it that you be not misled; for many will come in My name, saying I am He and the time is at hand; do not go after them.”

THROUGH PAUL

Acts 20:29   “I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;”

Acts 20:30   “and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.”

Rom. 1:18   For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

Rom. 1:21   For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Rom. 1:25   For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Rom. 16:17   Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.

Rom. 16:18   For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.

1Cor. 1:11   For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloe’s people, that there are quarrels among you.

1Cor. 1:12   Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, “I am of Paul,” and “I of Apollos,” and “I of Cephas,” and “I of Christ.”

1Cor. 1:13   Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

1Cor. 3:3   for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?

1Cor. 3:4   For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not mere men?

1Cor. 5:9   I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people;

1Cor. 5:10   I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters; for then you would have to go out of the world.

1Cor. 5:11   But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he should be an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler —not even to eat with such a one.

1Cor. 5:12   For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church?

1Cor. 5:13   But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.

1Cor. 10:12   Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

2Cor. 6:14   Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?

2Cor. 6:15   Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?

2Cor. 6:16   Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.

2Cor. 6:17   “Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE,” says the Lord. AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you.

2Cor. 11:3   But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.

2Cor. 11:4   For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.

2Cor. 11:19   For you, being so wise, bear with the foolish gladly.

2Cor. 11:20   For you bear with anyone if he enslaves you, if he devours you, if he takes advantage of you, if he exalts himself, if he hits you in the face.

2Cor. 11:13   For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

2Cor. 11:14   And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

2Cor. 11:15   Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their deeds.

Gal. 1:6   I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;

Gal. 1:7   which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you, and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

Gal. 1:8   But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

Gal. 1:9   As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed.

Gal. 2:4   But it was because of the false brethren who had sneaked in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to bring us into bondage.

Gal. 4:9   But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again?

Gal. 4:16   Have I therefore become your enemy by telling you the truth?

Gal. 4:17   They eagerly seek you, not commendably, but they wish to shut you out, in order that you may seek them.

Gal. 5:1   It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

Gal. 5:7   You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth?

Gal. 5:8   This persuasion did not come from Him who calls you.

Gal. 5:9   A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough.

Eph. 5:6   Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Eph. 5:7   Therefore do not be partakers with them;

Phil. 2:19   But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition.

Phil. 2:20   For I have no one else of kindred spirit who will genuinely be concerned for your welfare.

Phil. 2:21   For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.

Phil. 3:2   Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision;

Phil. 3:18   For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ,

Phil. 3:19   whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things.

Col. 2:8   See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

Col. 2:16   Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day —

Col. 2:17   things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

2Ths. 2:10   and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.

2Ths. 2:11   And for this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they might believe what is false,

2Ths. 2:12   in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.

1Tim. 1:3   As I urged you upon my departure for Macedonia, remain on at Ephesus, in order that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines,

1Tim. 1:4   nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith.

1Tim. 1:6   For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion,

1Tim. 1:7   wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.

1Tim. 4:1   But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,

1Tim. 4:2   by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,

1Tim. 4:3   men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods, which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth.

1Tim. 6:3   If anyone advocates a different doctrine, and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness,

1Tim. 6:4   he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,

1Tim. 6:5   and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.

1Tim. 6:9   But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.

1Tim. 6:10   For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith, and pierced themselves with many a pang.

2Tim. 2:14   Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to wrangle about words, which is useless, and leads to the ruin of the hearers.

2Tim. 2:15   Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.

2Tim. 2:16   But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness,

2Tim. 2:17   and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,

2Tim. 2:18   men who have gone astray from the truth saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and thus they upset the faith of some.

2Tim. 3:1   But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.

2Tim. 3:2   For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,

2Tim. 3:3   unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,

2Tim. 3:4   treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;

2Tim. 3:5   holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; and avoid such men as these.

2Tim. 3:6   For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,

2Tim. 3:7   always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2Tim. 3:8   And just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected as regards the faith.

2Tim. 3:9   But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, as also that of those two came to be.

2Tim. 3:13   But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

2Tim. 4:3   For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires;

2Tim. 4:4   and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.

Titus 1:10   For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,

Titus 1:11   who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach, for the sake of sordid gain.

Titus 1:15   To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

Titus 1:16   They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient, and worthless for any good deed.

Titus 3:9   But shun foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law; for they are unprofitable and worthless.

THROUGH JAMES

James 3:1   Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we shall incur a stricter judgment.

James 3:6   And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.

James 3:8   But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison.

James 3:14   But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.

James 3:15   This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.

James 3:16   For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.

James 4:4   You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

James 5:1   Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you.

THROUGH PETER

2Pet. 2:1   But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.

2Pet. 2:2   And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned;

2Pet. 2:3   and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

2Pet. 2:4   For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment;

2Pet. 2:12   But these, like unreasoning animals, born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, reviling where they have no knowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed,

2Pet. 2:13   suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, as they carouse with you,

2Pet. 2:14   having eyes full of adultery and that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed, accursed children;

2Pet. 2:15   forsaking the right way they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,

2Pet. 2:16   but he received a rebuke for his own transgression; for a dumb donkey, speaking with a voice of a man, restrained the madness of the prophet.

2Pet. 2:17   These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm, for whom the black darkness has been reserved.

2Pet. 2:18   For speaking out arrogant words of vanity they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error,

2Pet. 2:19   promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved.

2Pet. 2:20   For if after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.

2Pet. 2:21   For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment delivered to them.

2Pet. 2:22   It has happened to them according to the true proverb, “A DOG RETURNS TO ITS OWN VOMIT,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.”

2Pet. 3:3   Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,

2Pet. 3:15b-16   just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.

2Pet. 3:17   You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest, being carried away by the error of unprincipled men, you fall from your own steadfastness,

THROUGH JUDE

Jude 4   For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jude 10   But these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed.

Jude 11   Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.

Jude 12   These men are those who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted;

Jude 13   wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever.

Jude 16   These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.

Jude 17   But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Jude 18   that they were saying to you, “In the last time there shall be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.”

Jude 19   These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.

THROUGH JOHN

1John 2:18   Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour.

1John 2:26   These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you.

1John 4:1   Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

1John 4:5   They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them.

1John 5:21   Little children, guard yourselves from idols.

2John 7   For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh [John 1:14 – “the Word became flesh”]. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.
