How important is The Word of God?

God, Himself, is the Word and came as the Word. The Word became flesh, Jesus of Nazareth. He was born into the world, born of a woman, and born under the Law. But His name from the beginning is called the Word of God. Though scarred by men, He, the Word of God, is the Truth, the Way, and the Bread of Life. You can get to God and His kingdom only through Him, the Word of God.

God also gave His written Word to mankind, the 66 books of Genesis through Revelation, commonly known as the Bible. God commanded His servants of Scripture to write down His words, as moved by His Spirit. This one Book from God, though marred by men, is the truth that you must believe, the light that you must see, and the bread, His flesh and body, that you must eat to have life.

Though God gave a Book, He styled it as hidden wisdom, riddles, parables, spiritual language, dark statements, and “mysteries of the kingdom of God.” What does this mean? The Book of God can be rightly understood only through God Himself. If you don’t have God’s interpretation of His Book, you only have the opinions of worldly men who claim to be of God, yet are self-righteous stumbling blocks.

It is by this Word of God – both the Person and the Book – that all mankind will be judged. How did you treat God and His Word? Did you treat God and His Word correctly? Did you believe God alone (not men) and His Word alone (not the words or teachings of men)? Did you come to understand God’s 66 books by being alone with the One Teacher, the One Lord God of Israel?

“You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am.” (John 13:13)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)

And the Word became flesh (John 1:14)

His name is called the Word of God. (Rev. 19:13)

“the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.” (John 12:48)

“For it is not an idle word for you; indeed it is your life.” (Deut. 32:47)

the Word of Life (1John 1:1)

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures (Luke 24:45)
