Are these really “uncertain times”?

Nowadays people are constantly talking about “these uncertain times.” But God understands the times, and His plan is definitely certain. Consider that the current pandemic is merely a small opening strike in God’s end-time judgments, and this decade could be man’s most devastating ever.

What are some scriptural indications that this could be the beginning of the end?

  • The fig tree, Israel, was reborn in 1948.1
  • Jerusalem was restored to the Jews in 1967.2
  • Jews have been regathered to their homeland, especially after the 1973 Yom Kippur War, and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.3
  • 2023 will be 50 years since the Yom Kippur War. Will Israel celebrate God’s Jubilee?4
  • 2030 will be two millennial days since Jesus died.5
  • God’s gospel (the Bible) has gone out to all nations.6

So what might you expect to see this decade?

The Sixth Seal and Battle of Hamon-gog appear to be nuclear war that will decimate some of today’s most powerful countries.7 Huge numbers of people will die – up to a fourth of the world’s population!

After the Sixth Seal comes a time of rebuilding. A new temple will be built in Jerusalem and a new world empire will arise. Then those who have survived the Sixth Seal will be faced with God’s Trumpets and Bowls8, a time of devastation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created.

A brief summary of the annihilation caused by the seven Trumpets and Bowls:

1, 2, 3:Devastation on the earth (fire), the seas (volcano), and the fresh waters (meteorite)
4:Changes in midheaven: the sun, moon, and stars (men scorched by the sun’s heat)
5:Men poisoned by the antichrist (helicopters, chemical warfare); men seeking to die, but cannot
6:200-million man eastern army (tanks) killing a third of mankind
7:The Battle of Armageddon

But, remember, before Trumpets/Bowls comes the Sixth Seal. And there will be other calamitous events leading up to the Sixth Seal, such as severe famine and economic turmoil.

So now is the time to go to God with the attitude that He requires. Don’t assume things will get better in the world; and don’t assume you’ll be able to survive what’s coming. Your allotted time in this life may be up tomorrow. Therefore, while it is still called today, do not harden your heart. Get to God correctly – NOW.
